Description
Prehistorik 2 takes up the story of its predecessor, for another caveman-era platform game.
The hero must use his club to crush animal enemies, many of which then release bonus items to collect. He no longer needs to feed his clan, so there is no required minimum food target, unlike the original game. Other bonus items are located around the levels, while yet more can be found by using your club creatively and adventurously.
Passwords for every level can be found written in various places and they are different on every computer. You also encounter bosses after every few levels. In addition, the game includes hidden locations, multiple level exits and even hidden levels.
The Amstrad version is one of the few games to use the CPC Plus features for lots of colours and sprites and full parallax scrolling.

The whole package is good
I had a lot of fun playing prehistorik 2. I like everything about this game. I like the name, the music, the sounds, the graphics, the controls.
One of my favorite things is when the hero gets hit by an enemy it sounds like he is saying "why". I thought that was great.

Good game, good platforming elements
This game is a good game. It has platforming elements and puzzle elements too. I like that you can beat up the animals to get food. Interesting piece of gaming history. The fact that someone made this in 1992 at .286 MHz is amazing. Usually games now have a team working on the game. Not in 1992. Back then, they usually have one or two people working on one game at a time. Pretty impressive for just one guy. I give this 4 stars because it's a piece of gaming history that people should cherish. The only thing I didn't like about the is its difficulty and it's kind of hard to hit the animals. They run into you lol! But I liked nevertheless. Hope you enjoy this game!

Cheat codes for the game:
Entering the last castle level by cheat code: DEAD C0DE F00D 0013 where the last four digits stand for the number of (last) level in hex.
There are 10 levels in prehistorik 2 indeed. Each hex code corresponds to a level. If the code is in the range of 0001 to 000A then it is a beginner level and if it is between 000B and 0014 it is an expert level.
0001 1. level in beginner mode - 000B 1. level in expert mode ...... etc.
As there are no castle levels in beginner mode, 0009 and 000A lead you to the reminder that you must be an expert eater to enter those levels. Conversely 0013 leads you to the entrance of the castle level and 0014 stands for entering the end of castle level where the demon sculpture spits rocks upon you.

Finally nice to play the MS-DOS version
I had the Amstrad CPC version of this.
I like the boast on the title screen that the game still works in 2015, despite being written in 1992 on a 286.
